Our ranch is a part of the larger one homesteaded in the 1880s by Marti’s great-grandparents, John and Addie Owen Dennis. The ranch was based on dry-land farming and raising Hereford cattle. Four generations of the family have grown up here. We are proud of our heritage, and dry-land farming and cattle production are still our way of life.
Our main focus is our commercial cow-calf operation, which is Hereford based and crossed for over 15 years with good Ohlde Angus bulls sired by Traveler 6807 and Emblazon. We still maintain a straight Hereford herd as well. We are committed to building a better cow.
The Shorthorns are a fairly new endeavor courtesy of our daughter, Brooke (LBB Shorthorns). It was her love of and dedication to the breed that got us started. Our appreciation of the good things Shorthorns have to offer, got us hooked. This year we put out two young, moderate, and stout Shorthorn bulls on a field of crossbred cows. We can’t wait to see what that field looks like this fall when the calves hit the ground. Please look through our pictures and contact us for more information about our commercial program.
All calves below were born in from September to October.
